In 2008, BuzzUniverse was nominated for "Best New Groove" at the Jammy Awards in New York City. Included in the band's usual busy schedule of performances, BuzzUniverse opened up for moe. at the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park NJ, and also performed at several of the country's largest festivals, including Mountain Jam and Gathering of the Vibes. Quite a feat for a band that has remained completely independent and self-managed. The band also enjoyed heavy airplay on Sirius/XM Channel 17, JamOn, for the song "Lovelight Babylon". BuzzUniverse wrapped up 2008 with the release of their first live album, and a sold out boat cruise around New York City.
